Welcome to our Website
It’s been over a decade since the inception of the new wharekai, instigated by whanau of Waipapa Marae with the support of the Late Dame Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu.
The new Wharekai Project Committee is totally committed to complete the new wharekai within the next two to three years. Much is needed to be done, including the huge task of fundraising more than 2 million dollars. This website will show you how you can donate money to meet this task and provide up to date information on progress of the building project. So please let family and friends know that about this site.
The asset value of Waipapa Marae will be well in excess of 5 million dollars at the completion of the new dining facility. We need to set in place economic strategies and policies to meet the management of these assets beyond the building and into the future.
Members of the Project Committee are Ngati Hikairo or closely associated with whanau and activities of the Marae over many years.
Members’ experiences are vast, i.e. accountants, building project management, structural engineering, business and management. Find out more about the Project Committee members.
We look forward to your support.
